The YMCA Springfield Central Community Centre (formerly Springfield Central Sport and Community Hall) delivers a suite of holistic programs for young people, families and the local community.

Situated in a dynamic youth precinct between Springfield Central State High School and the Springfield Central Sports Complex, the Community Centre is perfect for youth programs, place-based service provision for the community sector, meetings, community events and local meetups.

We have a thriving community of hirers based at the Centre, including Basketball, Indoor Volleyball, Badminton and Netball, as well as multiple Martial Arts disciplines such as Taekwondo, Judo and Karate. The Community Centre is also home to plenty of other pro-social activities including a wide variety of youth programs, skills development workshops and activations from various place-based youth services within the region.

For those interested in training and other learning opportunities, the YMCA Springfield Central Community Centre hosts a variety of programs each month including First Aid and CPR, Youth Mental Health First Aid, Psychological First Aid, AUSLAN sign language classes, various language classes, and more.

Our Centre has a range of spaces available for hire that are suitable for both private and public community events, from meeting and boardrooms to offices and even a full-size indoor sports hall. The YMCA Springfield Central Community Centre is also airconditioned and is an alcohol and smoke free venue. Youth Advisory of Greater Springfield (YAGS)

The YMCA Springfield Central Community Centre facilitates the Youth Advisory of Greater Springfield (YAGS).

The Youth Advisory of Greater Springfield (YAGS) brings together young people aged 15-25 years old who live, work, or study in Greater Springfield (Augustine Heights, Brookwater, Springfield, Springfield Central, Springfield Lakes, and Spring Mountain).

As part of this program, YAGS members are empowered to undertake exiting projects for the betterment of young people in the area, and voice their opinions about the issues and matters that are affecting them. YAGS meets at the YMCA Springfield Central Community Centre once a month, and also supports with the day-to-day-operations of the Community Centre, as well as programming.

The YMCA Springfield Central Community Centre is a purpose-built facility that is available to all members of the community with access to 8 spaces for hire, including:

    Become A Volunteer

    The YMCA Springfield Central Community Centre offers a variety of activities for people from the Greater Springfield area and beyond. One of the great ways to get connected, participate in community events and to contribute is to volunteer!

    After a short induction and organising a volunteers blue card, we will help find a role and a commitment level that is right for you. Some of our volunteer roles include:

    • Youth Advisory of Greater Springfield (YAGS) member
    • Administration assistance in the office
    • Tours of the facility for potential hirers
    • Event planning
    • Assisting with School Holiday Programs
    • Fundraising
